just do it

That moment that truly feels like the beginning of something.. that moment when you're full of energy, potential and self-belief and you can almost envision completing impressive, fulfilling projects before you've even started them.. That moment is the embodiment of the Ace of Wands. It's a card that describes the empowerment you feel when you're preparing for fast, well-intentioned forward motion. Life is always exciting at this time. We're filled with purpose, wonder and spontaneity. We have a feeling that the world is our oyster. We're going to give it our all and it seems as though nothing can get in our way.

Wands are the fire suit. Passion, dynamism, creativity and determination are present in this suit and the Ace, representing beginnings, harnesses that desire within us to start something before it's too late, to leave our little mark on the world and to work towards something tangible that came from our minds. But remember, some beginnings can quickly turn into false starts if we're not brave enough to act. The Ace is warning the querent not to take on the apathy of others or listen to any blasé discouragement. Naysayers will always have their two pennies to offer but if it's in your heart to do something, carry on regardless. When self-belief falters, do what I do - remind yourself that you've got absolutely nothing to lose. I read an excellent quote a while back:

'A year from now you're going to wish you'd started today.'

That's exactly what the Ace is trying to tell you. Take hold of that fire inside and set something alight with it. If you don't try you'll have what you have now. But if you do give it a shot you could end up with a lot more, so what's to be gained from telling yourself you can't do it? When a creative endeavour doesn't get off the ground and dies in its early stages it can often be because too much attention was paid to the end result. Too much worry is caused by our desire to know that it will all end well and that we'll create something we can stand back and be proud of. There's nothing wrong with the ambition to succeed, but there's also a lot to be said for taking a project day by day. Don't pile pressure and expectation onto yourself. Let yourself breathe and enjoy the process. Nagging yourself won't help and doing something just so you can say you've done it is not a good idea - do it with love and passion in your heart and it'll get done right.

Harnessing your creativity and energy can be tough sometimes. Encouraging yourself can be difficult when you feel inadequate or unable. The Ace is telling you that you have what it takes to make the right moves and eventually complete the journey you're only just starting.
