Breaking the Seal on Sigils

I love to sit around and think about how to take my practice off road. This is something which has accelerated since I realised that I could invite my inner child to the party. It has been a sincerely wild ride so far, and I still feel as if I have only just scratched the surface. As I grow older, I become less and less interested in knowing everything and I fall steadily more in love with the fact that I don't have the first clue. There is much more potential in that. I used to bust my own balls pretty severely if I couldn't cram tonnes of occult information into my head at lightening speed, as though there might be a pop quiz at any moment, administered by all the dead old magicians of times past or whatever. Nowadays I appreciate the fact that I will pretty much never be ready for that pop quiz, and that's ok. That works for me. In fact, it might just be the source of my power.

The reason that I find myself wanting to share what little I do know is so that other practitioners can experience this same heart-in-the-throat adrenaline rush which comes from throwing the rules books and the dusty old grimoires away and just doing your own thing. It makes me happy to know that I have inspired some people to just tap into what they really enjoy and stop worrying about what other people are doing, what's trending on Tumblr, what someone with training or a certification or several more decades of life under their belt is preaching as gospel.

Sigils are undoubtedly intriguing and exciting to many witches and mystics, and sigil creation is definitely one of the most accessible areas of magick in terms of customisation and personal preference. If we all get on the same page when it comes to what sigils are and what they can be used for, then we can begin to explore just how far we take the concept off of the beaten track. We can journey with it and make it our own. How awesome is that?
